In the agglomeration area of Budapest, it is hardly possible to find empty plots for residential buildings, so a new building can either be built after demolition, or - if it is expedient and economical - the existing building on the plot can be renovated, transformed, expanded, or an attic space added.
The top picture shows a converted building where only the loadbearing walls remained from the original building.
The next plan was developed for a plot facing the Danube in Dunakeszi, by converting a simple building with a gable roof, adding an attic and extending it towards the river. Although it would have been more expedient to demolish and build a new building here, the obstacle to this was that in this case it would be necessary to comply with the currently valid regulations, and maintaining the prescribed side distance would result in a span unsuitable for residential purposes due to the extremely narrow plot size. However, the building was built on terrain fill, so it was necessary to plan an added foundation under the building and also to strengthen the existing foundations. Under the building, however, are the remains of the Roman military fort, one of the fort's corner towers, which the foundation must not touch in order not to cause damage in the event of a future excavation.must not touch, in case the ruins are excavated sometime in the distant future.

The following pictures show an example that even in multi-storey multi-dwelling residential buildings it is possible to renovate a part of the building in an individual but matching manner. Here, a corner section of the block was renewed, with the entire facade of the lower two-story apartment, with new doors and windows, louvres, thermal insulation, eaves, and the roof structures of the upper attic apartment. In this case, I also made the paln for the kitchen furniture.
Another example shows the conversion and extension of a Art Nouveau villa with monument value. Here, the interior design could be significantly modernized, while the goal of the facade design was to restore and preserve the original condition.
