On behalf of ÁSZÁRI Industrial Development Ltd., at the request of the responsible designer Péter Jánossy, I received a significant assignment in the monument renovation project of the Dunakeszi Alagi Training Center. My task was the complete survey of a total of 15 stable buildings, mostly of historic value, located on 7 ranches in the area, and the preparation of the complete architect's plans for building permission and then the tender plans for their historic renovation works, based on continuous inter-work consultations and agreements.

Between the two world wars, the installation of the world-class Dunakeszi-Alag Training Center was based on a simple formula: park strip - mansions and group of stables - north-south main axis - corral strip, and the same on the south side turned over and continued in an L shape. Currently, the farm can house about 380 horses.

The assignment was limited to the historical restoration of the 15 stable buildings, so that the function of the training center remains sustainable. For this - in extreme winter weather and snowfall, my wife and I surveyed the 15 stables, in addition to the floor plan, with cross-sectional and facade surveys, with a complete survey of the doors and windows, various details and the roof structures, the surroundings of the buildings, coverings, including the geodetic level data. The peculiarity of monument planning is that it is more detailed than the planning of a normal building, so during the survey also the diagonal data had to be measured and detailed drawings made (e.g. doors and windows and their special fittings, interior wall views with sliding gates...)

In general, the old-built monument stables were in a satisfactory technical and operational condition, continuous maintenance was also ensured, however their general renovation became timely. Due to the monument protection ordered in 2006, a monument renovation had to be carried out. The structure, detailing, decoration of the buildings, or with few exceptions, its interior design was preserved or could be restored. The layout, formation and the current condition of the buildings, an inventory-like description of their values, and aspects of their restoration had to be specified individually for each building.

The plan for building permittion and the tender plan recorded the interventions required for the complete historic restoration of the individual stables. In the project description, the composition and floor areas of each premises of the nearly 6,000 m2  complex had to be given. For some stable buildings attached parts were built; e.g. hay thrower, oat storage. These serve the current use, their appearance is not dominant, therefore their demolition was not justified, in many cases they could be used, for example, to create a new water block.
