In the settlements around Budapest, one of the most common architect's planning tasks is the preparation of notification and installation plans for newly built family houses. The selection below shows some examples that can be evaluated as special in some aspect.
In the first example despite the simplest traditional one-story mass with a gable roof, the building shows a modern design. The overextension of the roof covers the terrace in front of the living room, and at the same time frames it with the overextended side wall and the corner pillar. The dark surfaces also frame the wall surfaces covered with metal corrugated sheet on the long side of the house.
The next example was built in Pécs on the side of Mecsek mountain, on a narrow but very steep plot, also with a modern flat roof design, a curved southern facade with balcony and terrace with glass railings and triple steel pillars.
The following picture shows the typical porch of a family house built in Veresegyház, with an additional accommodation function in the attic. Here, there was a need for a traditional design and the decorative use of a sand-lime brick left over from a previous construction.
The next example is the spherical house designed for Őrbottyan, also featured on the outer cover page, for which a concept plan was made. The lightweight spherical house built on curved glued laminated timber structure was specifically requested by the client. The interior rooms were distributed radially around the centrally located fireplace and circular staircase. In the plan, in front of the living room with a continuous glass wall, there is a pergola-shading terrace facing the view, with parking space for two cars below.
The last example is a spacious, four-room family house with a conservatory and a roof terrace with a specific metal pergola, which was built in Győr. The building shows a kind of unification and transition of traditional and modern forms.
